Hey Dolly!

26 Aug

These doll portrait cushions are not for everyone, I know. But once they are spotted by their people it’s love at first sight.
If they speak to you, get one 🙂

They were all painted in watercolour from vintage dolls that inspired me and are printed with natural inks onto thick linen-rich fabric that can be washed and ironed.

Black and white working together, side by side in stormy weather…

18 Nov

OK, the title might evoke scenes from the 90’s but I just couldn’t resist. Apologies if the song’s going to be stuck in your head for the rest of the day…
My Monochromatic cushion range features warm and cold tones of black and gray in my loose watercolour style.
The Star Anise and Mushrooms are from my previous range, but the Liquorice cushion (black abstract brush stroke design) and the Lemon leaf as well as the Bottlebrush leaf are new.

These pillow covers are available on my online store, sold in Rands and also on my  Etsy shop.

Into the Wild

27 Oct

Into the Wild is the name of my 3rd collection of scatter cushions. I’m not into wooden giraffes & African masks, but I really wanted to create a collection that was ‘wild’ and that leaned more toward the contemporary side.
Galloping springboks and jumping kangaroos, savanna grasslands and warm African portraits were born, all created by my watercolour brush. These pillow covers are available on my online store, sold in Rands and also on my Etsy shop.

Doll face cushion. This one’s for art lovers.

15 May

Last week I launched a new cushion. It’s a watercolour doll face I did and then printed onto cotton and made up into a large cushion. The doll I painted was found severed in a ghost town in North-Dakota, USA.

The concept behind it was to give ‘things that people lost’ a 2nd chance.
Hope you like it!

Size 40cm x 60 cm.

Visi and my feet collection

13 Feb

My husband drew his feet with his left hand (being right-handed). He is after all the silent partner of Touchee Feelee. I put the pencil drawing up on the wall and it came to me, napkins! It’s perfect, wiping your mouth with someone’s feet, what more could you want after a roquefort ciabatta?

Slowly the table runner and no-feet-on-the-table felt coasters developed and finally after many failed attempts of trying to laser engrave an image onto felt, the welcome place mat emerged.

Now, the reason for the life story of the feet collection, Visi magazine thinks it’s pretty awesome. See my interview here: http://visi.co.za/content/article/2061/art-touch   it’s worth a read.
