Jellyfish in water(colour)

24 Jul

This is what I’ve been up to lately. Jellyfish swimming in water… in watercolour and acrylic. I’ve printed them onto woman’s handkerchiefs with cotton lace edges – very feminine! There is a reason why I chose jellyfish for a handkerchief – but I’ll leave it up to you to figure that one out… 🙂 That’s all still work in progress. I’m also planning to transfer them onto wood.

Let me know if you like it.

Celebrating the artichoke

16 Apr

This was the first time I painted an artichoke. Never ate them either. Has anyone ever seen these for sale in Cape Town? I think the closest thing we have to an artichoke is a Protea. They must be family, I definitely see a resemblance.

The purple one (metal over glass)

12 Apr

This one reminds me of the 1920’s. The purple bubbles represents the smell spreading.

Southeasterly flower

29 Nov

Louw, my husband, works at a school here in Taiwan. He came home one day with some flowers the kids gave him. When they started to wither, I threw them in the bin and some days later I noticed how beautiful the dead flowers look. I have no idea what kind of flower this was, but here’s a picture of it:
