It’s been chosen as one of the top gift shopping spots in Cape Town by Lonely Planet and it’s run by two lovely ladies and their angels as they call them.
The Fringe Arts is a quirky little shop in the ever so popular Kloof Street and about a year and a half ago seen in the Victoria & Albert Waterfront. They recently opened up shop in Lonehill, Johannesburg as well – these girls just keep on growing and growing.
What makes this shop different to so many other designer goods & craft shops in South Africa? They’re out to make a difference in how designers do business, making sure they spend 2 or 3 hours with EVERY designer that stock their shelves.
They address issues like designers under-cutting themselves, pricing do’s & don’ts and encourage continues creation. So if you’re an up coming designer or a crafty knitter, The Fringe Arts is a good start.
The two Cape Town shops (I cannot speak for the Lonehill shop) carry a very wide range of small gifts and what can be described as ‘cutie’ memorabilia, a lot of knitted animals and jewelry.
They also carry my re-usable cotton coffee filters, No-Feet-On-The-Table felt coasters and sets of white & brown tea bag bath soaks in their Kloof Street shop and also in the V & A Waterfront.
