My name is Euodia Roets

(name pronounced O – D – JA)

I’m a South African artist and designer who makes home ware and pamper products. My love for art comes through strongly in my work.

I graduated from visual communications at AAA School of Advertising in Cape Town in 2008. I then became a graphic designer, but was drawn to illustration & especially watercolour painting.

I taught myself to paint in 2010 and did it as a hobby while I traveled through Asia with my husband for 2.5 years.
I started Touchee Feelee in the beginning of 2012 when we returned to SA.
I love tactile objects & finishes.  I experiment a lot with production methods like screen printing on objects that ‘shouldn’t’ be screen printed on and stamping with fabric ink, dying fabric and finally digital printing onto fabric which allows for the wonderful detail of watercolour to  stay preserved.
My husband who is a photographer & industrial designer is a great inspiration and we often work together on projects.

I showcase my art on physical objects that people can touch and interact with – hence the name Touchee Feelee.

The concept of Touchee Feelee came about because I believe the conversation between your mind and hand, when creating something, is very important. When that creation starts on a computer screen, the conversation is lost. I aim to always create something tangible that you can see, feel and even smell (in some cases..)

ALL my materials are sourced locally and everything printed, stitched, cut and packaged right here in Cape Town, South Africa.

I try to be as natural, sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible in everything I do.

My work space.
